Iron Lung (2026), Director Mack Fischbach, Watched Jan. 1st
While not an exceedingly stellar movie, it was one I certainly enjoyed. Mark, both director and main character, did not just be "Haha Markiplier"- after the first couple of minutes, I was fully immersed in the story.
One of the funniest scenes is near the beginning, where Mark takes off his shirt, and it looks like he's wearing a binder. (He isn't, but he is wearing a chest harness, which is just hot in general. After that moment, the story and implications behind what was happening really started to take hold, and I was invested, completely and totally for the entire two hours of runtime.
Overall, 10/10 movie. It isn't going to be for everyone, but for those who do like it, I think they'll like it a lot.
Project Hail Mary (2026), Director Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, Watched April. 5th
Definitely a stellar (hee) movie. It starts out really strong, and although it might feel a bit flat or slow at points, overall I think it holds up very well.
I love the characters the movie focus on, and it managed to make me tear up and cry at least five times during the watch - this one definitely tugged on the heartstrings.
Definitely a 10/10 movie.
